CAREER REBOOT PROGRAMME

What does a REBOOT with Julia Westland involve?

Work 1:1 through a proven 14-hour programme to gain career clarity, master positioning,  and accelerate your job search with insider headhunter knowledge.    


PART 1: CAREER PATH ACTIVATION 

Understanding your career target so that we can focus all our efforts 


I am your career navigator. We will work together to identify your target career path taking your experience, skills, personal style and interests into account. I have 20+ years of experience of which I spent 7 years as an executive headhunter working with thousands of people to help them land their dream job in leading organisations and growth stage businesses. 


Together we will: 

• Chart your career path 

• Identify target job(s) – including ones you may not know exist! 

• Discuss what you think you should – and shouldn’t – do next 

• Explore your motivations interests, passions, and strengths (superpowers!) 

• Conduct a skills and experience audit to identify and assess your unique skills

• Understand how you stack up vs others in the market (qualitative and quantitive)

• Go through your 360s and feedback documents to uncover hidden strengths (if you have them)

• Look at personality and style assessments you’ve done in the past to further round out the picture of you (if you have them). 


You may not clearly fit into one ‘career’ box; we work through all the possible combinations of you so that you leave with clarity on what role(s) you could do next and a genuine understanding of your skills and experiences that differentiate you from the crowd. After this exploratory and expansive session, we discuss any constraints you may have and how best to find a role that will really work for you.

• Skills and experience audit (tailored to your current)  

• Past performance evaluations / 360s (if you have them)

• Professional style assessments (e.g. Hogan, Korn Ferry Strengths Finder, Myers Briggs, etc) if you have them


Outputs

• Career path activation document that describes the types of role(s) to go after and identifies the skills and experiences that make you uniquely suited to those roles.




PART 2: YOUR PITCH, INTERVIEW STORIES, CV/RESUME AND LINKEDIN REBOOT'ED 

Communicating your unique value 


Taking the output from the career path activation phase, we craft your killer pitch that leaves a positive lasting impression. Do you know how to respond to one of the most common interview questions “so tell me about yourself” so that the interviewer remembers you? Are you clear on unique skills and experiences that differentiate you?  Do you know what to say in informal meetings so that the person is clear about what you are looking to do in the future and where you’ve had impact?  


We tailor your pitch to different situations including what the CEO should know about you, how to communicate to the hiring manager, as well as how to get on with HR and recruitment teams who are essential gatekeepers to the opportunities you want. We also tailor the pitch across the media including CV/Resume, email and discussions since the nuance here will matter.


We will:

• Identify the most relevant proof points in your career

• Craft the key messages to leave a lasting impression

• Tailor your pitch to formal and informal settings 

• Go through the top 3 interview questions you need to be ready with answers to 

• Review, refine, REBOOT and revitalise your CV/Resume tailored to your target career path 

• Create a LinkedIn page that stands out

PART 3: YOUR TAILORED JOB NAVIGATION PLAN

Your masterplan to get the dream job


This is your unique plan that will turn action into interviews. I will share tools, tips, lists and approaches I developed and refined over many years years, jump starting your job navigation plan with years of experience helping others day in and day out! These sessions are hugely practical and focused on actions that drive results. I will give you clarity on what to do when, and check in on your progress along the way. 


We will:

• Create your job navigation plan and timeline 

• Cover the job market including key hiring stakeholders and what they look for 

• I will share my Golden List of headhunters who can help you (and explain how headhunters work and how best to get their attention)

• I will share email templates and phrases to use in your outreach 

• Select company and industry targets 

• Identify industry leaders, influencers and people in your network who can make a difference to your search 

• Go through how to use LinkedIn to execute your plan (including headhunter secret tips!)

• If you want a job in a new country/city, we discuss target location(s) and actions to take to get you a job before your move.

• Determine how to use your personal brand to achieve your job goals

• Discuss actions to take before you want your next job to put you in pole position when you're ready to move
